How to Put Your DVDs on an iPod

Today's technology is focused on portability. Everyone is always on the go, but we need to be able to stay connected wherever we go. This fact helps explains the need for tools like the iPod, iPhone and iPad. These products let people stay in touch with others easily, as well as surf the internet and listen to music no matter what. Using a few simple steps, you can also watch movies on your iPod even without an internet connection.

You might worry about watching movies on the small screen of an iPod, but in fact within a few minutes you will be immersed in a virtual world. Having movies on your iPod is a great way to beat boredom. You can watch a movie anytime you need to beat boredom when you are out and about.

xEspecially during your downtime, such as if you don't have any work do to, you can watch a movie without anyone noticing. Watching a movie on your iPod is also a great option when you are traveling (especially to keep the kids in the backseat buys) if you haven't invested in an iPad yet.

Make sure that your iPod has enough free memory space left before you download a movie for your iPod. Do not expect the micro iPods, like the Nano, to give you many movie options. They probably won't have enough memory available for a movie, and the small screen will give you eyestrain.

Your best option is to use a full-sized iPod if you want to watch movies in comfort. They have more memory space available, so you will be able to also fit your other digital files on them, such as games, photos, and music, which will give you more options other than simply watching a movie on the iPod.

There are a couple of ways you can get the movie onto your iPod. You can download them direct from the Apple Store. This would require you to pay for the movie which is fine if you don't already own it. If you have the movie on DVD then it doesn't make sense to pay for it twice.

DVD conversion software will let you transfer your copy of the movie from the disc to your iPod. This software is easy to use and is readily available online. Simply follow the software instructions and you can watch your DVDs on your iPod almost instantly.
